A downloadable asset pack

Buy Now$5.00 USD or more

This asset pack has all the music you need to build an exciting  action game. Styled after Megaman 2 (NES) and Megaman X (SNES), you'll find .uge and .wav files available for use with GB Studio 3.x projects or anything that can use .wav. Some songs have pre-programmed one-time intros and then loop (not available in WAV format). Although all these songs are based on and sound similar to originals from the Capcom games, they are legally considered "pastiche" (a song that sounds like the original but is technically and legally different), meaning you are free to use them in your projects.

All songs have priority parts in Duty Channel 2, so you can use Channel 1 for SFX without compromising the song's overall sound.

All songs have been tested at ROM level for sound quality.  Beatscribe is available for more custom tracks if you need as well.

This kind of pack is just what the GBS community needs. Fairly priced and versatile.
One thing to consider it that scenes with heavy usage of sounds effects will require channel 2 to be free of information so that SFX do not conflict with the music. Makes it significantly harder to create complex tunes but I think a less complex song that doesn't conflict with SFX is better than the alternative - or at least a track with very light usage of channel 2 to minimize timing conflicts. Doesn't need to be every song in a pack, certainly. I made a copy of bs-mm-theme.uge and removed channel 2 and its still a banger, for example.

Well done, bud.

thanks! You’re right about sfx, in fact I started making my newer packs with ch2 less important to the song, thanks for the feedback. I just uploaded an update to this where I put less 'important' song elements on ch2 so it doesn't sound weird when they get cut off by sfx.
